I ordered 2 Leopard Tadpoles for my granddaughter on August 7, 2010 for $5.98 plus $7.05 for shipping, total $13.03. yea they got me for $30 on crayfish, i'd like to file a report and i have an address from the reciept they gave me, this time alabama and a phone number that has some odd error message. After i ordered from this site i found your website and suddenly became sick to my stomach sad to say :( but i think the BBB isn't goning to do anything and i'd maybe want to try something else, get back to me! I wanted to let you know that I also placed and order with Water Critters, but couldn't get a hold of them when I tried to inquired about the reason my order wasn't being shipped, specially when they were very prompt in charging my card. I called my bank and they gave me Jeff's phone number, which turned out not to work, that's when I found your site and my fears were confirmed. My bank refunded me my money, but I don't think this guy should get off so easily. I am going to file a formal complaint against him with the Better Business Bureau and if there is anything else I can do, let me know,OK?

You might as well add me to the list of “Trusting People” that have been scammed by this company. I have been waiting for my order for a month and a half now. I too have contacted the BBB and filed a complaint. I was finally able to leave a message on their answering machine it had been full for several weeks. I left them a message asking for my money back and reported this to the BBB to add to their file. I did order some frogs from them about a year ago with no issues so I felt it was ok to order again. I am guessing this company is having some issues or is going out of business. I will really be surprised if I get my money back it was over 100 dollars.

I believe that I am also a victim of these thieves. I ordered 5 Asian clams 04/20/2010. My credit card was charged the next day. I received the standard "your order is being processed" email a couple of days later. When I didn't hear anything more from them, I started to investigate. I have sent several emails and tried many times by phone to contact these ripoff artists. I have never gotten a response. I am going to try to get my money back through the credit card company, (although I don't know if it's worth the hassle for $15.40). I don't get how people keep getting away with stuff like this on the internet. I'm sure there are many others being ripped off as I write this. The people behind this should be locked up. Hopefully they will be stopped and soon!

I too have fallen prey to Living Aquatic.

My wife and I recently bought our daughter a leopard frog habitat. Instead of waiting the 3 to 6 weeks it would take to get our tadpoles from the company that made the habitat I decided to go online and purchase them and get them quicker. Man was I wrong! I ordered the tadpoles on March 6th, and today is the 20th and I have not been able to get a response from them at all. I decided to search online for more info on Living Aquatics and found the great info that was on your site. Someone really needs to shut this website down before any more people fall prey. My wife called the bank today and had the purchase charge reversed. So if Living Aquatic can’t respond, then they can’t have my money.

Here’s another Living Aquatic story for you.

I ordered from them in January, and they billed my card immediately. Repeated attempts to contact them on their website and via their email addresses went unanswered. I tried to call the phone # on their site and got a message that their voicemail box was full so I couldn’t leave a message. I reported them to the BBB, but the BBB closed my complaint because they were unable to contact Living Aquatic. Today, I finally had to dispute the charge through my bank to get my money refunded.

I’m disgusted that they’re able to keep operating and taking money, and I’m further disgusted by the fact that the BBB closed my complaint because they couldn’t contact these people, when the nature of my complaint was my inability to contact them!

I ordered 3 tadpoles with food on December 15th for my grandson's Christmas gift. I was led to believe that they would be delivered by December 23rd. They were not. I called and was told they would be delivered by the 29th. This day came and went without tadpoles. Since then, I have called numerous times with no answer and no voice mail option. I also sent 2 emails without any response. Today I called and found the phone number on their website has been disconnected. I then had to contact my VISA provider and put the (cashed) charge into dispute. My grandson got an empty habitat for Christmas and a 3-wk wait for tadpoles actually RECEIVED from a reputable company!

Probably the WORST place to buy from online! I ordered 3 Electric Blue Crayfish from them on Oct. 30th. I checked back now and again to see what was happening with my order. There were no status updates. So I talked to them on the 11th of Nov. and I was told that they had just sold out of the lobsters a few days ago. A Few Days? I had ordered this 2 weeks ago! so I was told I would have to wait an extra week for them to get a shipment however I was told I was going to be sent at LEAST one more EBC. So I waited for the day it was supposed to get here. It never came. So finally Today (The 22nd) I talked to them again and asked why my order wasn't here. Jeff let me know that the order had leaked in transit and was returned. WHAT?! How can you even THINK about selling fish if you don't know how to ship them? My only explanation to this is that they shipped me complimentary scissors that accidentally cut the bag. I had them cancel the order right away. And let me tell you, if you hate doing business with them trying to order things, than there IS an upside to it. They refund faster than you can sneeze! I just received shipment from livingaquatic.com of four supposedly (according to their description) "large" bullfrog tadpoles. Not! The largest of the four was puny, and the smallest was almost too small to see. Has anyone else had any experiences with this company?BillI ordered a few tadpoles from this site, and about 4 days in i checked my status of my order and it said PENDING! So I went to a pet shop i found them there for 2.99 each saved me 15 dollars that they made me pay for shipping and handling. So then I tried calling the company to cancel my order, and no answer i tried for 2 days calling and leaving email, till I finally got a person on the phone. She said they were closed and I had to wait for someone to call me back BUT she was already on the phone with me so I don’t understand why she couldn’t help me????? So I recommended NOT EVER using this site! You can still try if you want I’m just giving you my experience.

Their crime is taking our money and not giving us our stuff. No Frogs, No plants nothing.The first time we called they were quick to answer and told us our merchandise would be sent out the next day......Still No Frogs!The second time we called they told us the Frog food we ordered was moldy ..... Ewwww! and that our order would be sent out as soon as the new food came in.The third time we called they said they we're exchanging the food pellets we ordered for a different kind and that it would be sent out the next day....... Still no Frogs No Plants No Food.They have a wonderfully put together site lots of information and videos its too bad they don't spend some of that time on customer service and getting out their stock. This website is very nice and offers everthing I needed, however I purchased items in July, they charged my credit card immediately and it said it was processing for months...It finally shipped in September after several phone calls and a promise by the owner to ship the items and call me back in August...never heard from her again, and they never answered the phone after that. Sent approximately 10 emails trying to get a status update. It finally took a BBB complaint to get my itmes.

I am also having trouble with this website. I ordered 5 cherry shrimp and 3 wood shrimp with a few moss balls.Its been two weeks since i made my order and they haven't sent it out yet nor replied to my many emails and phone messages. I haven't spoken to anyone on the phone only have been able to get their answering machine. I am becoming worried that they have scammed me out money. I tried canceling my order both through email and phone a few days ago but they still haven't canceled it.

I have done business with them twice. I placed an order for tadpoles back in the fall and then another order this past January. The first order went fairly smooth. I did have trouble contacting them but my order did arrive in a timely manner. The second order I was not so lucky. I placed an order on January 4th. They took my money via paypal quickly but then they seemed to disappear. I called several time and sent numerous emails but I did not get a response. Weeks went by and my tadpoles had not shipped. I finally got a hold of a woman who said she was sorry they did not ship and that they will be shipping in the next day or so. Weeks went by again and they still had not shipped. I was getting no response from them and paypal couldn't help me because the order was now over 45 days old. I tried repeatedly to cancel the order but I was getting no response. I have since found tadpoles elsewhere at http://www.aquaculturestore.com/. They were very nice to work with and they provided me with 16 tadpoles for the same price that I paid for 3 at livingaquatic.com. Livingaquatic.com is also not recommended by the Better Business Bureau. I now understand why.

I am usually pretty satisfied with online orders, but I I could not believe how horribly Livingaquatic.com had handled my order.

I ordered: I received:

3 misquitofish 2 misquitofish (INCORRECT!)
2 feeder pond snails 2 feeder pond snails
2 12" airwands 1 12" airwand (INCORRECT!)
1 shrimp net 1 shrimp net
1 pkg plant sinkers 0 pkg plant sinkers (INCORRECT!)
1 java moss 1 java moss
1 water pennywort 0 water pennywort, (INCORRECT!)
*** I think they gave me some extra java moss instead of pennywort
1 stryofoam box for shipping 0 stryofoam box (INCORRECT!)
*** They left a note saying that they were out of stryofoam boxes, but gave me 2 striped trumpet snails instead


After my order was delivered, I immediately emailed the company and told them that 5 out of the 12 items I ordered did not get delivered. I asked whether I was going to receive refunds for the items I did not receive or if those items would be shipped. It's been several days and no reply yet. I'm so frustrated because I paid 100% but received less than 60% of
